Trouble, anguish? Yet I will delight in you

‭Psalm‬ ‭119‬:‭143‬ ESV

“Trouble and anguish have found me out, but your commandments are my delight.”

Very sad news from Liberia

Yesterday, I received this message from Alex Freeman in Liberia:

Hi Fred,
I am sorry to inform you we lost one of your students, pastor Rufus Lekpyee, from Monrovia, this morning. He was suspectedly killed by Ebola. His wife and five of his seven kids lives are at risk to Ebola please continue to stand with us in prayer.
Its Alex.

Pastor Rufus was one of the 24 leaders in Liberia that started our four phase/year leadership development program in the fall of 2013. I am greatly saddened to hear of his passing.

Please pray for his wife and five children who may also be infected by this terrible disease. I would imagine that they have been quarantined and it may be several days before we know for sure whether they have the disease. Also pray for the other leaders, the churches they pastor, and their families.

Pray also for the doctors and other aid workers in Liberia and other countries where this disease has spread. These men and women are risking their lives on a daily basis.

I had planned to return to Liberia in November to continue with the second phase/year of our training program, but will be unable to do so until the Ebola outbreak has subsided and travel is allowed once again.

I will keep you posted whenever I receive some additional information from Liberia.
