We’ll, I’m off for Liberia this afternoon! I will be training a group of Church pastors and leaders in the second phase of our leadership development process. I will be gone from November 19th until the 30th.
I was supposed to go back to Liberia for their Phase 2 training last year, but due to the Ebola outbreak, I had to cancel my plans. I am looking forward to seeing these leaders again and to hear their stories of how they have had to live with the fear of this dreaded disease, the challenges they faced, and how they led their “flock” of believers during such a trying time. I will do my best to share some of these with you during this trip.
My schedule looks like this:
Thurs/Friday, Nov 19-20 – Traveling to Liberia, arriving in Monrovia at 8:35 pm and remaining overnight there.
Saturday, Nov 21 – Travel to Ganta
Sunday, Nov 22 – Worship services and prep for the weeks training sessions.
Monday, Nov 23-Friday, Nov 27 – Phase 2 Leader Development training.
Saturday, Nov 28 – Day of rest
Sunday, Nov 29 – Worship services and then travel to Monrovia to catch the return flight to the US. Flight departs at 9:35 pm.
Monday, Nov 30 – Arrive in Lexington, 6:15 pm.
I plan on posting an update everyday beginning on Saturday, so I invite you to follow along to check on how I’m doing, and to learn how these leaders have faced and overcame such a terrible situation as they have been through this past year.
Your prayers, especially for these leaders, are greatly appreciated!
Blessings!
Fred
